By using Dubbed you agree to the terms below. They exist to keep the app safe for everyone — anime fans, conventiongoers, the voice actors you might tag, and the families of younger users.
These terms are an agreement between you and Quintilian LLC, the developer of Dubbed. Contact: dubbedanimeapp@gmail.com. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the app.
You are responsible for the @handle and display name you choose and for any activity under your account. Pick a handle that is not obscene, harassing, impersonating another person, or infringing on someone else's name. If you share access to your device, you are still responsible for what happens in the app.
Dubbed is for tracking your own anime and manga consumption, your convention attendance, and the voice actors you have met. Do not use it to harass, impersonate, or threaten anyone — including voice actors and other users. Do not upload photos you do not have the right to share, and do not upload images of minors who have not consented. Do not attempt to reverse-engineer the app, bypass parental controls, or circumvent the Dubbed+ paywall.
Approved followers can see the categories of activity you have explicitly opted into sharing (from Connections settings). They can like an event and — with Dubbed+ — reshare a custom list you published to their own feed. They cannot comment, message, or repost anything else. There are no direct messages anywhere in the app, by design.
You are responsible for any photo you upload — voice-actor meet photos, convention badge photos, custom cover images. Dubbed keeps these on your device and your private iCloud container only. They are never surfaced to other users in any feed.
If you encounter behavior that violates these terms, email dubbedanimeapp@gmail.com with the @handle of the user and the issue. We aim to respond within 48 hours. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate the acceptable-use policy.
Dubbed+ is an auto-renewing subscription managed through the App Store. The free tier lets you browse the full catalog; Dubbed+ unlocks tracking, library management, convention logging, voice-actor meet tracking, badges, custom covers, data export, custom library buckets, custom cast lists (for grouping favorite characters), and the ability to reshare another user's published list to your own feed. The subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Cancel anytime in iOS Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions.
Cover art, synopsis text, character data, and voice-actor data come from Jikan (MyAnimeList) and AniList. Those parties own their data — Dubbed displays it for tracking purposes; you should not redistribute it. News headlines link out to original sources through Safari. Dubbed does not reproduce article content.
Dubbed is rated for ages 12 and up. Parents may set content and social restrictions through Parental Controls in Profile. Those restrictions are locked behind a PIN and cannot be removed without knowing the PIN. Resetting a forgotten PIN clears all parental restrictions; if you want stronger controls, use iOS Screen Time in addition to Dubbed's parental controls.
You may delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, at our discretion. Upon termination, your public profile, activity events, and follow relationships are removed from CloudKit Public; your private library data is removed on your device as part of the delete flow.
Dubbed is provided as-is and as-available. We do not guarantee that catalog information from third-party sources is accurate or complete. We do not guarantee that convention dates or locations are correct — always confirm with the convention's own website before traveling. We do not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free.
To the maximum extent allowed by law, the developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of Dubbed, including lost data, missed conventions, or decisions made based on catalog information. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with the app is to stop using it.
If these terms materially change, the Last updated date above is bumped and an in-app notice is shown the next time you open Dubbed. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which the developer resides, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in that state, unless local consumer-protection law says otherwise.
